The Best app to learn new languages

That app is amazing for me is the Best app in the App Store that you can download to learn a new language. I am actually learning german and I understand a lot of it, thats my favorite app!!!!!! I recommend you to download it and also to buy the complete program

Best language app Ive used.

With zero reservations, I can safely say that this is the best language learning app I have ever used. Unlike most, this app teaches grammar in addition to word and phrase memorization. I wish there was a way to save notes, but I cant have everything. The price is very fair.

Not to be missed

Who knew you could teach yourself German using only an inexpensive app? This one helps you learn vocabulary, grammar, word order, and pronunciation. It features brief, realistic conversations instead of the freestanding, perfectly formed sentences you see in books and in other apps. When you make a mistake, it tells you instantly, by means of a popup tip, what youve done wrong. Also, I like that you can either progress through a comprehensive course at a given level, e.g., Beginner 1, Beginner 2, etc., or choose an area of interest, such as a subject (Food and Wine, Culture, Everyday Life) or grammatical category (Nouns, Verbs, etc.) My only criticism is that you have to switch to a physical keyboard (if you have one) in order to capitalize nouns. The onscreen keyboard in the app makes no distinction between caps and lower case. Fortunately, once you click Enter to check your answer, the capitalization shown on the screen does appear as it should.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I am an American who recently moved to Germany for what I expect to be 2-3 years. I have no hope to master the German language during this time, but I want to be able to communicate in a very basic way with German people in the places I go - grocery store, train station, bus, restaurants, etc. I spent a lot of money on Rosetta Stone and was disappointed in its practicality. I spent a lot of money on private German lessons, which also disappointed me with their obscene focus on detail - which definite article to use, which plural ending, etc. I would like to know about those things, but Germans will still understand me if I say these things a little incorrectly. Basic communication is what I was after. I also have Duolingo, which is fine, but lacking in explanations of certain concepts. I knew that Babbel was just what I needed when, in one of the first lessons, I learned a very practical phrase, "Im getting a beer." My favorite part of this app is the contextual German conversations in which I SEE and HEAR words I havent learned yet, but only have to fill in words I have learned. I have learned so much from those activities, and Babbel is the only place I have found those! I really love this app. Better than my private language teacher! Its a great purchase for the money.

The best language app to date

I have used workbooks, flashcards, cds, Duolingo, and Rosetta. This app is the single best self study way to learn coversational german . Nothing can replace practicing with real people everyday. The app needs a control to adjust its talking speed.

IM ONLY TEN BUT FLUENT!!!

So I Wanted To Learn A New Language And I Chose German I Went Through At Least Ten Apps I Didnt Like Any Of Them

Sneaky sneaky

Free.....to download the app but ya gotta pay up to get content. Looks like a lot of material but I dont like the sneakiness.

Very Good

Ive been using Duolingo for a year and Babbel for about a month or two. If youre new to a language I would highly recommend Duolingo before commiting to a subscription based app. What Babbel does better is being in-depth with hundreds of lessons on dozens of subjects and having a more effective system, for only 33¢ a day.

Excellent Method for Learning German

I am a native English speaker, and I speak French. I studied German for one year only, 45 years(!) ago. I am amazed how well this AP works, and I recommend it for anyone serious about learning German. You study vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing and pronunciation. Its designed for adults, systematic in its approach, and practical. I wish only that a workbook were available to use with it. I am finished with the first course of about five, for beginners before I move to Intermediate.

Wah wahhhh

App is done very well, but after you get a taste they hit you with the cost of continuing. Delete.

Ich liebe es!

A great app, just what I was looking for. I never wanted to pay the high price for a tutor or other programs. Amazing price for what they give you, Good job guys!

Great but...

I cant write an eszett (the B looking thing) with the given keyboard

Pronunciation way to. Sensitive

I live in a German speaking country and I am forever getting I pronounced it wrong. Way too much. So have put some natives on, and apparently you dont think they say it correctly either. You need to fix this, it is very distracting and nonproductive. If it stays this way, Im dropping you. I know I dont say everything perfectly, but in most cases Im pretty close!!!

Great App

Ive been learning for quite a time now and Ive been learning everything, I just love the app. Some suggestions from my part would be to add more words to be reviewed at a time, maybe another method like matching something like that. Vielen Dank Babbel!!!

...

The only problem I have with this app is you have to pay for "full access".

Login hopelessly broken

I have tried resetting my password 4 or 5 times and can log in fine to the website, but not the app (tells me wrong email or password.) Oops, obviously there is a QA oversight happening...
