Babbel – Learn German App Reviews

The customer support is amazing: when I first downloaded this app, it kept on crashing as soon as I wanted to change the reference language. I sent an email to the customer support, and less then 24h after, they contacted me to tell me that theyve solved the problem! I can now use this app perfectly. I really like the way they add a bit of grammar an sentence structure while making you learn useful dialogue skills. I do not regret subscribing for a year!

I have almost finished the beginner German course. For me it is more of a review. Even still, I am finding that the exercises and dialogue are holding my interest. I am looking forward to moving on to the intermediate course.

It is a good app and has a very good technique for teaching the language. It is very basic and escalates in difficulty in a steady pace, but, In my opinion, I think there should not be a price or need for subscription to learn the language using the app. The app is probably worth it, but I think it is a little pricey to learn the language. I think I may recommend it to people willing to pay for it.

This is a great tool for learning German. My only big complaint with the app is Im unable to type in characters like ß,ü,or ö even after changing my default keyboard to German. Not being able to type in ß has dropped my scores quite a bit in some lessons. It would be nice if this app kept track of words or phrases that the student struggles the most with. That would be a nice feature to easily refer to, review, and improve on while continuing lessons. If the app would add that feature (and being able to type ß), this would be the best learning tool on the market.

This app is great for staying on top of a bit of language learning every day. It gives practise in grammar, vocabulary, listening, and speaking and pronunciation. Recommend it wholeheartedly.

I really like this app with the exception of the times where you have to write the translation. I have not been able to find the proper symbols for the German "st" for example "heist". Thats the only way I can spell and its obviously wrong. Is there a way to get the proper symbols on the keyboard?

Its a bit too repetitive for my liking, and I hate downloading every lesson...but its not bad. If youre trying to learn a language, Id say start with duolingo. Its free, and you arent downloading lessons. The speech recognition is a bit too sensitive to background noise as well.

Enjoying the program, well done. Voice recognition not liking my Canuck accent too well though eh? Give it a shot.

The lessons are slow and boring, Im intermediate but I was only allowed to start from either beginner or advanced. Do yourself a favour and get duolingo instead, its way way way better, and its completely free, and it does good for society by helping to translate the Internet to all languages. Dont waste your time or money on this garbage.

Frustrating. Slow and tedious.Tried to get a refund and they just play it between Apple and Babbel. Utterly useless.

You only get one lesson for free then u have to pay. The one lesson is good though.

I really like Babbel. Its an useful tool to practice language, and Im glad to pay for the web version. The app, however, is a bit of a let down. Its missing a regular keyboard--no capitalization--and the review feature seems buggy in that it doesnt seem to refresh to new words properly. Hope the app matches the quality of the overall service soon

This step by step learning method fits me well. It really helps you to learn a language with fun.

Im learning German for the first time and this app made me want to continue taking the lessons. I want to visit German someday after mastering some basic German.

Ive been using Duolingo for a while, but I quickly got tired of their repetitive excercises. Babbel is so much more advanced, all of the lessons are much more diversified and engaging. Highly recommended!

use with Duolingo to learn German, as Babbel gives very useful grammar exercises, and together this two apps are awesome
