The reason Ill be fluent

I have learned so much; very good, resourceful, and well put together for easy learning.

Awesome app!!

This app is very helpful and has much to offer for a reasonable price.

Great for beginning German

So far this has been a great app, in both design and content.

Great language app

Very easy to use. Leads you through each lesson.

Better than duolingo IMHO

There is a saying that life is too short to learn German....this is not true with Babbel which makes learning a new language fun and more intuitive. Great app

Love it

Must have for German beginner ,you can access anywhere anytime with your devices.

Awesome

Learning languages has never been so easy

Sehr gut

I have studied four years of German through high school as well as visited the country twice and this content is very accurate! I recommend to anyone no matter what level youre at beginner or advanced. There is a lot you can learn here :) Happy studying

Must Buy a Subscription

The app itself is free, but to do any lesson past the first in each category, you must buy a subscription for Babbel. Not really effective for learning a language if youre not planning on spending a little money.

hard for beginners

Although the first couple of lessons seemed easy, I got quickly bogged down in the difficult spelling and verb conjugation. Some small issues with the user interface loading the wrong content sometimes but I am sure they can fix that.

Great app

I love babbel!!! The algorithm behind the vocabulary review is great, the words you get wrong keep popping more often until you get them consistently right, then are sent to the back of the queue.

Great!

Babbel makes learning German fun! I enjoy the format in which the lessons are presented. I have learned more with this app than I did while taking German in college. This is definitely worth the money.

Frustrating

The app is frustrating and getting more so. You can only choose to begin at beginner or intermediate, nowhere in between. You cant skip anything, so for lessons that cover material you already know, you have to go through the whole process of hearing, then spelling (with only the correct letters provided) the words, and then a drill. Youre told to learn the article as part of the noun, but it is not consistently provided so look it up on your own. This isnt an immersion course, so please provide the articles. Throughout all the beginner classes you never get a chance to compose or type an entire sentence on your own. In the classroom, I was speaking and writing complete (granted brief) sentences from day one. Now in the intermediate courses, Im still being spoon-fed letters and words and just selecting word order or plugging in words here and there in dialogues. Then out of nowhere Im asked to write several paragraphs. Thats a bit of a leap. Id rather start with writing individual sentences. In the intermediate courses, the drills arent broken up as much. As the screen fills, I cant scroll the page up so that I can see what I am typing. The virtual keyboard covers the areas to fill in and I have no way of detecting typos. (Speaking of which, the app has a few which I dont really expect from a product I pay for). The not being able to see what Im typing is just poor design and a deal breaker for me. Some of the German speakers over emote, but in general the quality of the speaking is excellent. The teaching methodology isnt as good but it isnt awful, just inflexible, assumes that you know grammatical terms and concepts, and doesnt quite get the job done. Too much time wasted on vocabulary few people need, not enough time on learning essential nouns, verbs, and expressions.

Money well spent!$$$$$

I highly recommend this app for anyone who wants to learn German! And for the other reviews who say its annoying they have to pay for the other levels think about it! They did not have to let you use that level for free they could have charged u if they wanted to! Im only 11 years old and I was able to speak German in 3 months! Money well spent$$ and much cheaper than Rosetta Stone!

Babbel German

Babbel is an excellent language learning app which has greatly improved my skills in German. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn a new language or improve current skills. Thanks, for such a great product.

Great App

I found this app very easy to use. The lessons were fun and straight forward. Definitely give this App a try.

Great learning tool!

I have enjoyed using BABBEL. It has been a good tool to help me refresh my German. I like that it teaches basic phrases that are useful day to day. Practical learning. Everyone learns differently, but this process helped me.

Great way to learn

Yes, you have to pay, but you also get computer access as well. You have to pay for any good language software. I use it in co junction with duo lingo. This one is more accurate than DL as well as much more explanatory. DL is fun, but use Bable if you are serious about learning a language.

Great for learning German

I love having a little German lesson wherever I go. Whenever I feel like Im getting a bit rusty, I can quiz myself on the recent material I went over and then start a new one from anywhere. Lately Ive been getting a lesson in during my lunch breaks which always impresses the German travelers that stay in the hotel I work for.

Yay! I love German!

I love learning German on my phone and I love speaking German with my friends and family
